Product details description
Microfiber has revolutionized the cleaning industry. These cloths are not just "soft rags"; they are precision tools engineered at a microscopic level to trap dirt.
The Science of the Split
Microfiber is usually a blend of Polyester and Polyamide. During manufacturing, the fibers are "split" 8-10 times. This creates a star-shaped cross-section with millions of microscopic hooks. These hooks scoop up dust, bacteria, and oil rather than just smearing it around like a cotton rag.
Types of Microfiber
Standard Microfiber: Good for dusting and general wiping.
Waffle Weave: Has a grid pattern. Increases surface area and absorption. Excellent for glass and mirrors (leaves no lint).
Glass-Specific: Ultra-smooth, lint-free, and streak-free. Often darker in color to hide dirt.
Heavy-Duty Scrub: Contains a higher percentage of polyamide for abrasive scrubbing power without scratching (if used correctly).
Care and Longevity
Microfiber is delicate.
Washing: Wash separately (no cotton towels, which leave lint that clogs the micro-hooks). Use liquid detergent (powder gets stuck in the fibers).
Heat: Never use fabric softener (it coats the fibers and ruins the static charge) and never use high heat in the dryer (melts the plastic fibers). Air dry only.
Lifespan: A good microfiber cloth can last 300-500 washes if cared for properly, making it cheaper and more eco-friendly than paper towels in the long run.
